Research

Sorry, there isn't gonna be a comic tonight. I'm just really tired and I've been sick for a while. I have started doing a little research though. The research is for the Berkshire Hunt and improving the characters, the backgrounds and more generally my drawing skills. (ie Reading Comics)

But it's also for another project that I currently have zipping around in my brain. It's a lot more serious and deserves a lot more time and dedication than I'm really equipped to give at the moment. I want the drawing to be a lot more consistant than it is right now and I actually need to sit down and do some writing as well. But despite knowing I need to leave it for a while I can't get it out of my head. Ideally I'd love to be able to write it and have someone else worry about drawing it.

I just finished reading the Ride over at Image Comics. There are a lot of qualities there to be envied. The writing is decent but the art is great. I wish I could draw more like that... I guess the best way to get there is to start practicing. I also like the way that the story is set up in a chapter rather than one page. Webcomics tend to be set up in such a way that people expect each comic to be either funny or making storyline progress and seeing a splash page can be a little dissapointing. But releasing pages in bulk means having long periods of inactivity unless you work like a demon. Which is sort of not how most webcomics work, at least not the ones I read. So that's something I have to think about...

Anyway, I'll hopefully get a comic up this weekend and I'll do a little more research over the coming week.
