Long Day

Yesterday was effort. I got woken up by the phone (I had forgotten to remove it from my room the night before). Spark rang at 7am and then Astra rang at 9am. I had only gotten to sleep at 4am so I was pretty grrr for the morning. Ma and Pa wanted to go see art express at Cofa. We would normally go see it together anyway but a friend of ours made the cut so we were especially excited to see his work. Only Cofa isn't open on Sunday so we had driven their and paid for parking and there was no way in. I suggested we go see the exhibition at the NSW Art Gallery but Dad was in grump mode.

We went and visited a sick girl in hospital, her grandmother is an old family friend and her dad was friends with my uncle, but we'd none of us met her before, so that was a bit weird and awkward. My mum was making an effort to tell old stories about their Dad when he was friends with her brother but it was a little bit forced. The girls sisters (who were hot) were sitting beside her bed but we didn't stay very long so I just stood silently next to my parents like I had autism. I think I may have been holding my Dad's hand and swaying. Smoooth...

After we made good our escape Dad suggested that we go see the exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW. I told him that was a great idea. He dropped us at the gallery and went to look for a parking spot. Twenty minutes later we came back outside to find Dad sitting in the car just outside the gallery because there weren't any spots. We went home.

After lunch Dad and I drove back into the city to watch the second leg of the semi-final of the soccer, Sydney vs Adelaide. The first game was a 2 all draw and so Sydney could get through to the final with a win or a draw, as long as the draw wasn't 3 all or above. It was a good game with some decent play by both sides and sufficient excitement. Sydney won 2-1. Sydney's scored first and it was a bit iffy on the off-side but they had one disallowed later which looked alright to me at the time. You could tell the Adelaide team did not like having Dwight Yorke running at them and every now and then he looked really good, but generally he was relegated to playing in the midfield. We gave a mate of my Dad's a lift home, it was the least we could do after he hooked us up with members tickets, and both of the old fogies agreed I listen to good, tuneful music.

I watched the final of Veronica Mars season one and I liked it. Bring on season two! (I have the dvds already) I went to bed and had dreams again. I woke up halfway through and then decided I wanted to know how my dream ended so I went back to sleep. FYI: It ended with rolling in the grass.
