I watched some more television recently (surprised?) specifically movies: Adaptation and Birth.
Adaptation had Nicolas Cage playing a serious role and I enjoyed it. The start is a bit slow but it's still interesting and funny and the ending is great. Benjam thought it was a weird movie, but I don’t really agree. It’s postmodern in the sense that Kaufman has written himself into a movie about him writing himself into a movie. (If you didn’t get that then you need to watch the film) But that in itself isn’t really that weird is it? It’s just postmodern…
Birth has Nicole Kidman who is generally not one of my favourite actresses even without the awful haircut they gave her for this movie. Surprisingly I enjoyed this movie too, it was a bit weird and unsettling but I think that worked well with the movie's themes. My only beef was that they didn't leave the ending more open (they had a golden opportunity).
I recommend both movies. I also recommend watching them while no one else is around, because, if you're like me, you won't want assholes talking the whole way through your movie. I tried subtly shushing people or turning up the volume. I even tried subtly punching them in the face but somehow they escaped the message (am I being too subtle?). When I'm watching a movie I also like listening to the sounds. Sure the pictures are pretty but the sound just adds this whole other element to the movie.

Watched The Producers at George St (thats in the city for all those not in Australia) and I just had some idiots say stupid all through the film.
They let all sorts into the cinema nowadays.
Yeah! I'm all for segregation based on social skills.
