Your Hero Returns

It's been a busy few days, hence not much blogging. When I have been home I've mostly been playing single player Far Cry or making multiplayer maps. I've whipped Spark a few times already at Far Cry but he still thinks he has a chance so I guess my work isn't finished yet. One thing I don't like about Far Cry is a long intro. It's really, really long. And unskippable. I've seen it like fifty frickin times. Man am I over that intro. Whatever posessed them to make a really long unskippable ad for their game which I am already playing I don't know. But seriously it's shitting me hardcore.

I was gonna deconstruct the Socceroo's first leg performance in Monte Video but it seems pretty pointless now that they've qualified anyway. So instead I'll deconstruct the second leg performance in Sydney (last night). First Half: We sucked but got a lucky goal. Second Half: We were all over them attacking well, defending well, but got nothing. Extra Time: We were still all over them but still got nothing. Penalties: Schwarzer is a golden god.

One of my pet peeves when it comes to soccer is when referees say they'll all make a decision ie yellow card players for blatantly diving, but then don't. This is specifically relevant when it comes to penalties. There is a rule that goalies are not supposed to step off the goal line before the shot is taken. If they do, then the kick may be retaken. The linesman are positioned specifically to see if the goalie steps off the line but they never ever call it. Mark Schwarzer saved two penalties, almost three, and he did it without stepping off the line. One of the saves he dived the right way but the ball was going above him and he reached out an arm and saved it. He is my hero. That is some serious spiderman business right there.

I noticed the new Penny Arcade website. It looks alright. I mean it looks smoother than the old one and probably works better but still. I liked the old one. Also the new logo at the centre of the header looks a little tacky. I'm not really a fan of that.

I went to see the Grad Show on Tuesday night with Vess and her friend Wheeze which was pretty fun. It was crowded and we couldn't be arsed to go see all the works that were there but we saw the stuff at Exit Gallery (the uni's main gallery area) and all the sculpture works which was most of the important stuff. There were some nice works but overall the exhibition wasn't that intimidating. It is still scary to think that in a year's time that will be me presenting my work for the last time, unless I do honours. Blargh...

The comic will be up later to day if I get around to it, but it might have to wait till tomorrow. I'm a little bit worn out. I do have something in mind though and I'll have more to say later.
