Far Cry

Has earned itself a place in my home with one feature. Customisable Multiplayer Maps.

Single Player is alright. Nothing pecial. There's a whole shamanistic experimentation thing going on in the game, with Jack Carver being turned into a "Predator". I've only just started that part of the story so hopefully it will pick up from here, truth be told I was getting a little bored of running through the jungle shooting fools.

At the moment the choice of weapons is pretty limited: Some mp5, some pistol and occasionally sniper rifle. But having seen what's available in multi I'm sure it'll get a little more diverse soon enough. The vehicles are a bitch to drive. I respect what they were trying for, the ability to drive a jeep with one hand while firing an mp5 in the other. But what that means is awkward vehicle controls that are exacerbated by an equally awkward view. Maybe it's just me.

The multiplayer is adequate. I've only played three rounds so far, all one-on-one with Spark. So we haven't had much of a chance to check out all the features and game types. We have however had a crack at building maps. It is easy to use and there's a fair bit of stuff to plonk down. My verdict? Success! I'd say it's this function that is most likely to keep us playing.

Being Predator? Rocks.
