Anecdotes

My cousins are staying at my place at the moment. I vacillate between enjoying the company of others and scarily hermit-like behaviour. When people you're not used to spending heaps of time with stay at your house it can be a bit wearing, especially if you're intolerant like me, but it hasn't been too bad. I've mostly ignored them and been reading.

We were eating ice creams today and when I'd finished mine I pushed the wet end of the paddlepop stick into the welcoming ear of a boy cousin, Boss. He proceeded to attack me with the wet end of his paddlepop stick before putting it back in his mouth. Then he put the stick back in his mouth, without thinking. He spat, I laughed.

Astra has been having some accomodation issues with her upcoming move. Fortunately they appear to be all sorted now but it prompted an amusing story from my Aunt. A police officer she knew had moved to Tamworth for work and his accomodation was, according to my Aunt, "A shit-hole". He rang up to complain but was told nothing could be done about his accomodation. He asked them if Prince Charles came to visit would they have money set aside for the necessary arrangements? He was told that of course they would. "Good," he said, "He isn't coming. You can use that money." And they did.

Well I tried to link streets ice cream so you'd understand but basically it's ice cream on a stick. I guess you probably have some other name for it like ice lolly or ice pop or something.
