Played my first game of futsal tonight. I'm in a team with a few guys from my soccer club and two mates of theirs who I met for the first time tonight. Futsal is basically a form of indoor soccer but with wierd rules. They have out lines like an outdoor court so there's no rebounds, you're not allowed to slide tackle, the goals are smaller than outdoor but not by as much as I thought. There's other stuff but meh... effort.
So anyway I started the first half on the field and I played alright, did a few nice flicks on but ultimately I wasn't spectacular. I ran for about half of the first half and then went off and didn't get back on. But in the second half I played goalie. And I was good. I used my hands, my arms, my knees, my feet, my head and at one point I even saved a ball with stomach (don't try that at home). In fact I saved everything and it was pretty satisfying. I was the ninja goalie!!
So in short I'm basically goalie for the rest of the season which isn't too bad because I enjoy goalie. It's just that I joined an indoor team to build up some skills and some fitness and I have a feeling I won't get much of either playing in goals.
So I might play goalie for one half and play on the field for the other half. Besides I enjoy being a ninja!!
